I've finished my first run, and it was phenomenal. I played the Finzra route, and I'm really exited to play through August's. I do love that choosing a route doesn't isolate you from the other characters, and you still get to form friendships with them. The story was, well, captivating. My only complaint would be the pacing (which isn't much of an issue outside of the romances.) If playing through a romance, it can seem a little fast paced. I don't think it's a big issue though, as the story is strong enough on it's own. (Fixing it could be as simple as making time skips a little more clear, and adding more of them.)
I don't want to end on a negative though, because that would do this game a disservice. So instead, I'm going to end by saying that I adore Finn's clan and I do hope to see more of them in the re-release.

Finished my first playthrough yesterday and I'm just blown away by the quality of writing in this VN. You all have really created something so, so special. Finn's romance was beautiful and enchanting, I loved getting to know all of the other characters, I'm so excited for the re-release coming later!! Started playing this game a few weeks ago. I am completely and utterly addicted. I could play this over and over again through all the routes for eternity Im pretty certain. The art is stunning, the story line is most excellent and the romance routes are jsut... PERFECT.

Hi! I've finished the main game and mini stories and I just wanna say how gorgeously written this game is! I loved every bit of the story and romance (bless you for Finn btw). I was worried about spending money on a VN, as I've been disappointed before, but this game was well worth the price. I've just finished the second mini story and I might cry, it was so beautiful. Also, the soundtrack really pulled me into the atmosphere, it fit the vibe really well. <3
Im only a few hours in and very sad I can't kiss Harry LOL I love his design. I mean everyone's design is fantastic but Im lovin that coat. At least I still have Piper and August <3
I just finished plaything through the entirety of WTNC and what a wonderfully put together experience that was. I went in blind expecting good from this game and was very pleased by the time I reached the end of all the routes. The art is beautiful which is what drew me to purchase it from the start! The characters were unique in their own sense from each other, No two being too overly similar to the other. And Being non-binary and someone who uses neutral its always a fresh breath of air seeing options for pronouns, and really good writing to accompany them throughout scenes of the game. ( cause sometimes it feels a bit forced but it felt so natural and wonderful throughout ) I've been playing VN's for ages so its always pleasing.
Characters, general plot, and the overall themes for the game made it a very pleasing experience. I think the only thing that made finishing it all up a bit hard would be the repetition of playing through everything since it does have a linear plot. But overall still couldn't pull myself away from it! I can't wait to play the other projects from you guys in the future :D

I tend to play through games like this very slowly, and haven't started WTNC yet. It'd probably take me a month or two to play through. Considering the re-release appears to be slated for Q4 2020, would you recommend I just go ahead and start it now (presumably due to an as-yet-unannounced pushback on the release date) or just wait for the re-release?
We're adding voice acting to the game so the re-release will likely be Q1 2021 now, so it's really up to you! If you play slowly then maybe waiting for everything to be shiny and new might be a good shout ;3

I've just bought the game a day ago and I've (surprisingly) finish all of the routes.... They were all amazing!!!
I always went into VN games saving who I believe to be my type character (Finn) route last or who I think i would love as a friend but not as a romance last (Omen).............. OoO....... I was completely taken back by how much I love Omen route and his past & personalities that where slowly revealed throughout the playthrough...... At the same time, the game and minitwo ending for Omen brings me to literal tears!!!!
I'm almost done with the main game (playing August/Finnzra routes), and I have no words to say how lovely this story and game is! It's beautifully crafted and I want to thank all of you for the hard work this must have been! I'm a perv so I will always appreciate more ~naughtiness but this is such a high quality game, my wishful thinking is just a silly note. <3

So I basically played through the entire game in a single day. WOW! The art is gorgeous, the story is amazing, and now I want to go back and do it all over again for the other romances. My one complaint is the lack of female love interests. I adore Piper, but I'd love to see more choices for the people who love women. It's a minor complaint to an otherwise wonderful game.
I've returned after a year to play the ministories and I'm obsessed with the game again :D. I'm excited for the re-release and I'm definitely paying for this. August remains the #1 LI foreva. (edit: They actually might go toe-to-toe with Alkar.)
This game has my heart. I seldom play games all the way through, I never hit the endings, I just don't generally have the attention span for them. I'll visit them, revisit, and linger til the next thing snares my interests. However, with When The Night Comes, with all of the work that Lunaris Games has created, I have been entranced and pulled in time and time again.
From stunning game art to brilliant writing, When the Night Comes checks off everything it takes to get me hopelessly ensnared. The cast are so diverse, and so real. Despite this being a world of magic and monsters, every single character that you meet and interact with in the game feel firmly rooted and well grown. Things seemed groundbreaking to me when I saw we had the options to pick pronouns, and I had been floored again when I found that I could pick polyamorus romance routes as well. (And the fact that should I have wanted to, I could have completely forgone the romance side of the game as well).
Lunaris Games has a way of making everyone feel valued, and it's clear that this isn't just a quick buck for them. They're here to provide comfort and intrigue in genres that can be so exclusive of different groups of people.
Watching the developers create this, seeing them put so much love and work into something that is very clearly important not just on the creative expression side, but in the personal experience side as well, has been an honor, and I am entirely excited to see how the revamp goes this coming fall.

They're all seriously so good. The character designs and how each character progresses throughout the story are fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed every character, learning about them, and just, being there to bare witness to and involve the Hunter in their lives. Gorgeous game!
I downloaded this game over a year ago, and I had no idea how much it would change my life. I've made so many friends through it, and started exploring character creation more than I had previously. The characters in this game are some of my favorites, and I love how complex and human they are (despite some of them being creatures). Piper and August are my two favorites, and I didn't expect to love them as much as I do. Piper is the kind of woman I aspire to be, and I wish more media had female characters like her. August is unlike any other character I've encountered, really, and I adore them very much. Watching them grow and change is one of my favorite parts of this game. Most of all, I love how relatable the Hunter is, and that they're human (more games need human mcs!). I had so much fun creating mcs for this game, and just seeing where they went in terms of their own personal development. Thank you guys so much for this utterly fantastic game. It truly did change my life.
I cannot express how much love I have for this game. The love interests are all wholly unique with their own flaws. They're three-dimensional with weight and depth. The setting is unique, the story rich. I love that, for what feels the first time ever, we get true choice in a visual novel. You can choose how your romance unfolds and if it includes sex or not; if it does, you can choose if it's sooner or later. I love that the story unfolds organically and in a way that, while it's an expected end, it doesn't feel stale. I stayed up until 7 am playing my very first playthrough because I just could not stop and needed to know what happened and immediately began singing the praises of this game to anyone who would listen. If you love visual novels or dating sims, this is absolutely a game you should look into.
I just finished writing my EK review so here is now my WTNC review. I started this game first before EK and it's what got me into being a lifelong fan of LG. I've played multiple vns before but this was the first to really speak to me emotionally. I'm not an easy crier when it comes to media but they accomplished that easily.
The story, art, music, and the everything really pulled me in and honestly this game (as well as EK) has helped me survive this hellish year. I've even started drawing again thanks to 10+ years of depression because these stories inspired me so much.
This game and EK have a lot more heart and soul than most of even the most expensive triple A games and you get so much content plus future stuff for only $5 which is something you really can't beat.
Please give this and EK a chance if you haven't already.

I had the money and I paid for the game. That was a smart decision. I won't give away any of the plot, but the story is just really interesting. I'm playing this game as a series of socially distanced dates and we're having an amazing time! We're three chapters in and it's taking a monumental amount of self control for me not to play ahead on my own. I love all the characters so much and I can already tell I'm going to HAVE to come back and play every single route!

Completely captivated by the story, art, diversity, characters, and world surrounding said characters. The MC hunter was everything I could want in a protagonist: daring, dangerous, a little bit vulnerable, and set on the task at hand even when that task seems so daunting. Finn and Ezra's polyamorous relationship was my favorite because they were just so attentive and too adorable with the MC. Even when in a seperate route I couldn't help playing matchmaker every single doggone time so that they at least would end up together <3 The monster end broke my heart, so many feels... I wanted to burst into the song, "Baby Come Back." (╥﹏╥) Power makes fools of us all *sigh.* Anyways, thank you for this outstandingly exceptional masterpiece. I'll definitely be cheering on all your future projects. Good luck! >_<
This visual novel is just so lovely, I was a nice experience to play this when it was coming out in parts. The mini stories rounded this game off so well and lovely. I almost got teary eyed when I played mini story number 2, so heartwarming and sweet!
i saw this game, read the description and some of the reviews and got it on a whim. i never was particularly drawn to visual novels, but everything i'd seen about this game seemed to pique my interest, so i decided to give it a go. i bought the game and started it the next morning, got stuck for 20 minutes trying to choose a name, and then proceeded to sink the next 14 hours into the game. another 2-ish hours later and i've just finished my first route, august's (darling, my dear, absolutely charming).
everything is so wonderfully done, the plot is captivating and it was exactly like a book i couldn't put down, and i have a lot of fun going back and exploring all the options and their outcomes! the characters are all so interesting and charming and i really want to know all about them. i get !!!! feelings when i look at/think about august and how they're nb thank you so much for that ;w; the artwork is absolutely beautiful too! and! and! i really appreciate that there is no obligation to take part in sexual scenes, i just really appreciate that the option is there.
i have to say i greatly appreciate and really enjoyed the way the story develops and how there was a little notice about the big big decision that determines the route bc i'm real bad at making choices and despite all that and also knowing that i can scroll back to previous options, i still quicksaved every 1-2 minutes ;;; but the warnings helped me relax a bit!
this is my first visual novel in a long while, and it gripped me more than i honestly expected and i enjoyed the experience so much that i probably won't stop thinking about it for a while, and i really don't want to stop playing! thank you for putting so much love and effort into making this game, and thank you for putting out such a beautiful and wonderful game. it was an absolute delight to play, and is definitely one of my favourite games.

I had my preferences, but honestly every character (or characters) had a beautifully wonderful romance and story. The precious bonus were everything I could have dreamed of and more. Thank you! This game was AMAZING and I can't wait for the other games (Errant Kingsdom and Call me Under) you have in the works. I'm sure they will be just as wonderful! :)
This game is one of the best VN I've ever played. No joke. The characters are well written and deep. There are some that I love, and others that I cringe at, but it doesn't change the fact that diversity is what made this game so playable and enjoyable. I finished my first playthrough (the August route) and the first mini story (with August) last night and I am so in love with this game! About to play the 2nd mini story and start my 2nd playthrough. I also love how once you pick your romance route, you still interact a lot with the other characters to maintain close friendships with them.

Even when in a seperate route I couldn't help playing matchmaker every single doggone time so that they at least would end up together <3 The monster end broke my heart, so many feels... I wanted to burst into the song, "Baby Come Back." (╥﹏╥) Power makes fools of us all *sigh.* Anyways, thank you for this outstandingly exceptional masterpiece. This visual novel is just so lovely, I was a nice experience to play this when it was coming out in parts. The mini stories rounded this game off so well and lovely. I almost got teary eyed when I played mini story number 2, so heartwarming and sweet!

i saw this game, read the description and some of the reviews and got it on a whim. i never was particularly drawn to visual novels, but everything i'd seen about this game seemed to pique my interest, so i decided to give it a go. i bought the game and started it the next morning, got stuck for 20 minutes trying to choose a name, and then proceeded to sink the next 14 hours into the game. another 2-ish hours later and i've just finished my first route, august's (darling, my dear, absolutely charming).
everything is so wonderfully done, the plot is captivating and it was exactly like a book i couldn't put down, and i have a lot of fun going back and exploring all the options and their outcomes! the characters are all so interesting and charming and i really want to know all about them. i get !!!! feelings when i look at/think about august and how they're nb thank you so much for that ;w; the artwork is absolutely beautiful too! and! and! i really appreciate that there is no obligation to take part in sexual scenes, i just really appreciate that the option is there.
i have to say i greatly appreciate and really enjoyed the way the story develops and how there was a little notice about the big big decision that determines the route bc i'm real bad at making choices and despite all that and also knowing that i can scroll back to previous options, i still quicksaved every 1-2 minutes ;;; but the warnings helped me relax a bit!
this is my first visual novel in a long while, and it gripped me more than i honestly expected and i enjoyed the experience so much that i probably won't stop thinking about it for a while, and i really don't want to stop playing! thank you for putting so much love and effort into making this game, and thank you for putting out such a beautiful and wonderful game. it was an absolute delight to play, and is definitely one of my favourite games.

I just downloaded this game after reading GLOWING reviews and I am so excited! Quick question- is there a recommended playthrough order when it comes to the romances? Is there someone I should romance first or last? Thank you!
Just enjoy them as you please, each romance will offer you a little bit of a different insight into the story as a whole but there’s no recommended order x

I had my preferences, but honestly every character (or characters) had a beautifully wonderful romance and story. The precious bonus were everything I could have dreamed of and more. Thank you! This game is one of the best VN I've ever played. No joke. The characters are well written and deep. There are some that I love, and others that I cringe at, but it doesn't change the fact that diversity is what made this game so playable and enjoyable. I finished my first playthrough (the August route) and the first mini story (with August) last night and I am so in love with this game! About to play the 2nd mini story and start my 2nd playthrough. I also love how once you pick your romance route, you still interact a lot with the other characters to maintain close friendships with them.
